Different Sealers
I use a variety of sealants. Mod Podge Gloss, Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge, Mod Podge Matte, Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel Spray Paint, and Paint Pixie Forcefield Premium Sealer. There are hundreds of sealers on the market, these are just the Project Sealers I use the most.
Indoor Projects
For projects inside my home, in my living room, or in a bedroom area that doesn’t need extra protection from the elements, I usually use Mod Podge to seal it, and I prefer the Mod Podge Matte finish. However, Mod Podge offers many Project Sealers in various finishes such as Gloss, Satin, Holographic, Sparkle, Extreme Glitter, and many more. Applying Mod Podge is easy as pie using my Paint Pixie Artist Assistant 3/4 Paint Brush.
Moisture Resistant Project Protection
If my project is going in my bathroom area, one of the Project Sealers I use is Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge. Why? Because of the humidity and moisture levels that can be present in the bathroom. This sealant option helps protect against damage in moist environments, keeping that cute craft project looking the same as the day you made it. For projects being used in my kitchen, I prefer to use the Mod Podge Gloss Sealer. It is a durable sealer that is easy to wipe off and clean, making it the perfect choice for projects hanging on the wall in my kitchen.
UV And Water Protection
For projects I create for the yard or garden, that will be sitting in direct sunlight, I use a combination of Project Sealers is used for Non-Metal crafts. Using my Paint Pixie Artist Assistant 3/4 Paint Brush, I start by applying two coats of The Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge, which takes 28 days to cure; that’s why I use it first. Then apply two coats of Paint Pixie’s Forcefield, which provides UV protection and will keep those beautiful colors looking fresh instead of looking faded. When sealing metal projects for my yard or garden, I use Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel which comes in spray paint cans, making it easy to cover all the nooks and crannies and offers durable protection from outdoor elements. Another great outdoor all-in-one sealer is Krylon UV Resistant Clear Coat. This amazing sealer offers UV protection, which will keep your colors from fading in the sunlight. It comes in a spray can, making application quick and easy.
I hope this answers your questions on which Project Sealers I use for each type of project. Please let me know in the comments and share your projects with me! For more fabulous craft projects, check out the links below.
